In the figure we have the way to control an SCR with a programmable unijunction transistor (PUT). The bridge diodes must be in accordance with the load current as well as the SCR, which admits equivalents. The circuit is from a 1974 Motorola PUT manual. The SCR must be mounted on an appropriate heatsink.
