By connecting the output of an amplifier to this circuit, the X1 lamp will flash at the same rate as the music being played. The transformer has a 110 V primary connected to P1 and a 6 to 12 V secondary with 100 to 500 mA connected to Rx. Rx typically depends on the amplifier being between 47 ohm and 220 ohms.
