You can use this simple audio amplifier on your bench, on an intercom or as a power stage for a portable record player. The simplicity of this circuit is a factor that attracts at first sight, since only 3 transistors are used, and all are common. Q1 is the preamp and can be of any PNP type for general use, such as the BC557. Q2 is the driver, the BC547 or BC548 can be used for this purpose and finally the output transistor can be the 2N3055 or plastic equivalents. The circuit can be powered with voltages between 9 and 12 V from a source, since the current required by the circuit is relatively high. For the same reason, transistor Q3 must be mounted on a heatsink of approximately 5 x 10 cm.
