This circuit, from an old publication, uses an unusual operating system, but can be implemented with a modern operating system such as the 741. What it does is to turn on an LED when the input voltage is missing or when it falls below a certain value set in R1. The circuit must be powered by a simple source of 6 to 12 V, depending on the integrated used. The circuit monitors continuous voltages only. Be careful not to apply more than the supply voltage to the operating input.
