The original frequency of the Pierce Oscillator with bipolar transistor is given by the crystal, which can be changed in the range between 1 MHz and 10 MHz typically. The circuit shown in the figure can be supplied with stabilized voltages in the 9 to 12 V range. Capacitors must be ceramic, and the transistor supports equivalents. Note that the circuit supports other crystal frequencies and transistors equivalent to 2N2222, many of which are available in the libraries of the simulation programs.
