In the figure below we have the way to connect solar cells in parallel to charge a battery in an alternative power system. The circuit is from a 1974 Popular Electronics. The diodes can be 1N4002 and the ammeter is optional. The diodes prevent the charge from one cell from appearing over the others, guaranteeing the current flow in a single direction. Note that this circuit does not have a limit for the load current, which may be necessary in some cases.
