In this circuit from a 1991 publication, we can use the 2N2646 unijunction transistor and the sensor is any LDR. The triac can be any of the TIC series with chain according to the controlled load. LDR is common and the sensitivity is adjusted in RV1. The Triac must be equipped with a heat radiator depending on the load. This circuit does not use a transformer.
