We found this circuit in a 1991 publication, but it can be assembled with more modern components. We can use 2N2646 for Q1 (unijunction) and BC548 for the other transistors. See the component section for electronics how to calculate C1 for the desired frequency. The signal is in the audio range and can be used as a time base for an experimental low frequency oscilloscope.
