Once the voltage in the load is adjusted, this circuit keeps the voltage constant through the action of a zener. T1 is a pulse transformer with a 1 to 1 ratio. The triac can be any of the TIC series. The circuit was found in a 1980 publication. R5 may have a commercial value of 4M7.
