This circuit controls the brightness of incandescent lamps up to 400 W for the TIC226 series Triacs. Diac is common and the circuit works on the 110 V network. For the 220 V network, the capacitor next to the diac must be changed. The book is from an American thyristor manual from 1974. The shock can be made with 40 turns of wire 22 or 24 in a small ferrite rod.
