With this shield circuit it is possible to control several loads up to 500 mA from the parallel port of a PC. The loads are activated with the outputs at the low level. The sources must be separate, but they must all have a common with the PC. The circuit is in Newton C. Braga's Mechatronics Sourcebook, published in the United States.
