This simple circuit gives an interesting light effect to your sound equipment.

 

On the speaker output of any sound equipment, it causes an incandescent lamp to blink in the rhythm of the music.

 

In figure 1 we have the complete circuit of rhythmic light, which can be installed in a plastic or wooden box.

Note that the TIC106 SCR must be fitted with a small heat radiator consisting of a U-folded metal plate. The circuit can control lamps up to 200 W without problems and the SCR should be TIC106 B if the power grid 110 V and TIC106D if the 220 V power grid.

P1 is a sensitivity control that must be set so that the lamp blinks to the rhythm of the music according to the volume of the stereo.

When mounting, be careful of the position of the SCR and the polarity of D1.

 

The transformer is of the type 110 V / 220 V with secondary from 6 to 12 V and current from 100 mA to 300 mA.

 

The input connection is made on the speaker itself and the resistor R1 depends on the sound power, as shown in the following table:

Up to 25 W- 47 ohm x 1 W

25 to 50 W - 100 ohm x 1 W

More than 50 W - 220 ohm x 1 W
