This source regulated with transistors appeared in an American publication from the 1980s. The power transistor can be the 2N3055 or TIP31 equipped with a heat sink and the driver transistor a BD135. The bridge diodes can be 1N4002 and the transformer has 24 V with 2 A of current in the original version.
