With an optodiac we have the circuit of the figure, suggested by MotoroIa, in which we do the direct control of a resistive load (a lamp) in the 110 V network. The trip is made remotely from a 5 V source, completely isolated. The MOC3011 is not suitable for use in a 220 V network. For applications in higher voltage networks, a resistor network must be used to equalize the voltage, as shown in the second figure.
