The L200 integrated circuit consists of a 5-terminal current regulator in a TO-22O enclosure that can provide an output of up to 2 A. In the figure we give a typical application where the output current depends on R1 according to the formula given next to the diagram. The output voltage can be between 2.85 and 36 V, while the input voltage must be in the range of 4.85 to 40 V. The quiescent current is 4.2 mA, and the typical ripple rejection is 70 dB. The integrated circuit has internal protection against short circuit.
