The circuit shown is from an old English publication from 1965. We can adapt the circuit to work with more modern transistors like the BC558 and inverting the power with the BC548. The frequency is in the 1 kHz range, but capacitors C1 and C2 can be changed to modify the frequency of the generated signal.
