In the figure we show a configuration for a crystal-controlled overtone oscillator using a junction field effect transistor. The frequency of this oscillator, which depends on the crystal, can typically be between 100 kHz and 10 MHz. The capacitors must be ceramic, and the field effect transistor supports an equivalent as the MPF102.
