This circuit was found in a 1992 publication. The critical component is the photodiode, but equivalents can be used, since all photodiodes are sensitive to UV, just by determining their characteristic response curve to this radiation. The supply does not need to be symmetrical and other operational ones can be tested like the CA3140.
