This traditional crystal CMOS oscillator circuit was found in a 1990 Electronics Handbook. The power supply can be made with voltages from 5 to 12 V, without problems and the signal generated is close to the rectangular one. Crystals from other frequencies, up to a maximum of about 7 MHz can be used in this circuit.
