The Texas Instruments TPS797xx family of integrated circuits is designed to supply very low-consumption circuits such as the MSP430 series microcontrollers. These integrated circuits can provide an output current of 12 mA, being stable with capacitors greater than 0.47uF and presenting a voltage drop of only 0.125 V for a load current of 10 mA. Figure 1 shows a typical application circuit for this component.
