This circuit, published in 1978, can use any general purpose NPN transistor such as the BC548 and the transformer is the type of output found in old transistor radios. The circuit works with voltages from 3 to 6 V and the frequency is adjusted in the potentiometer. The speaker is a 8 ohms small unit.
