We found this peak audio indicator in a 1980 publication. The M1 indicator can be 200 uA with the reduction of R3 from 22k to 15k or even 12k. The circuit does not require a symmetrical power supply and the adjustment of the operating point is done in PR1. Operatives with equivalent FETs can be used.
