A touch of the sensor makes the load bistable (load) connected in Q1. For a BC548, a 6 V or 12 V relay can be used depending on the supply. For larger loads, a BD135 can be used. The circuit must be supplied with a source that uses a transformer. The circuit is from a 1979 British magazine.
