The circuit shown in the figure is suggested by Intersil (www.intersil.com) and makes use of the ISL6410 a 600mA switched regulator that has the integrated FET. The circuit using PWM technology operates at a frequency of 750 kHz. The buck converter (reducer) presented allows a 10% variation in the input voltage and the output can also be programmed for voltages of 1.2 V 1.5 V or 1.8 V using ISL410) and 1.2 V, 1.8 V and 3.3 V with the ISL410A. The frequency can also be adjusted to values between 500 kHz and 1 MHz. Features such as UVLO (undervoltage locking) and power good monitor are available on this circuit. The ISL6410 (A) integrated circuit can be obtained in a 10-pin MSOP or 16-pin QFN enclosure. More information about this component and its applications can be found in the Intersil Applicatio0n Note 1209.
