This interesting configuration was obtained in an Electronics Now magazine in March 1995. It is a circuit that has high gain with small signals and lower gain with more intense signals. Used with a microphone it keeps the output constant. The circuit uses a 741 with a symmetrical source and the FET can be the BF245. Next to the diagram we have the circuit performance table.
